Abstract

In 1619 Philip III of Spain made his long-awaited and crucial journey
through Portugal. The triumphal entry into Lisbon –the 29th of June–
represented the peak of his long voyage. The regal journey created an
important number of literature testimonies –prose and verse (lyric or
dramatic). This article tries to establish the relations between these
literature testimonies, their direct sources, and their political message
starting from their historical and literary context.
