Abstract

Related to the revaluation of translation as a pedagogical tool, this paper
explores the use of this resource when teaching linguistic competences
to initial Spanish speakers learners of Portuguese/FL. Under the
assumption of a dependence of the linguistic nature of units, a criterion
of contribution to the learning process is established and the adequacy
of translation is discussed in several types of activities.
